Training sessions will look different this year to accomodate our growing club, allow us to give targeted training to different levels and help new players find their feet.
📍All training sessions will take place at John Archer Way Softball Pitch
Returning Raiders
Returning Raiders can come along to all training sessions You must sign up using the weekly spreadsheet below to attend.
📅 Dates
Every Saturday from 7th March - 25th April (Bank holiday weekends excluded)
⏱️ Times
Div 2-5 (Gold/Blue/Red): 11-1pm
Div 6 + PSL (Green/Orange/Indigo/Pink): 1-3pm
New to Raiders?
Welcome! Your first training details:
We're excited to have you all on board. To get you started, please see the key info below for your first training session.

For New members with softball experience
(e.g. you have an understanding of the main rules, positions and gameplay; are an ex-university/high school player; or you have 1 or more seasons of regular play with any club/team)
📅 Dates
Sessions on 14th, 21st, and/or 28th March.
⏱️ Times
You’ll be assigned to either 11am-1pm or 1pm-3pm on each day.
Why: These sessions are crucial for competitive league team selection. We cannot guarantee everyone will be chosen for a league team, but captains will be watching, so please attend if you want to be considered for a team.

For Beginners/New to Softball
📅 Dates
Taster Sessions on 11th, 18th, and 25th April.
⏱️ Times
1.00pm - 2.30pm
You are welcome to come to one, two, or all three sessions—whatever suits you!
What to Expect:
Learn the basics, try all the key skills, then watch a game and join us socially afterwards.
Next Steps:
If you enjoy it, you can join our Development Squad on Monday nights from May to learn the sport fully.

For all new players
What to bring to all sessions:
- Comfortable sports clothes and trainers (cleats if you have them, but no metal studs).
- A water bottle and a snack.
- Weather-suitable clothing (e.g. rain jacket, sunglasses, baseball cap).
- Bring a glove if you have one, if not we have plenty to borrow.
- Enthusiasm!
