SOCIAL
LIFE
Raiders is known for having fun on and off the pitch. We run a wide range of social activities throughout the year and provide ample opportunities for the Raiders family to get together. For new members, our socials provide a relaxed setting to get to know the club and the amazing people that make us who we are.
MEET THE RAIDERS
This is the first social of the calendar year and, for new or prospective members, it’s a chance to meet the team, and for those already part of the Raiders family, it’s a great opportunity to connect with old friends.
LONDON PRIDE
As a predominately LGBTQIA+ softball club, Pride is one of the big social events of the year. We regularly march in the parade and is always a season highlight.
START/END OF SEASON PARTIES
To mark the start of league fixtures and their conclusion, we hold our two biggest social occasions of the year. The first is a great way to get ready for the fixtures ahead, while at the second we celebrate the season’s successes, and, if the last few years are anything to go by this is one not to be missed.
WINTER BOWLING
The main softball season doesn't run through the winter, so if you’re looking for a continued sporting winter, Raiders Bowling is for you. It’s become quite the established fixture, with teams competing monthly and aiming to be crowned the ten-pin champ.
OTHER SOCIALS
As well as the big events, we also have many smaller gatherings. These include regular trips to the pub after training and fixtures, to virtual quizzes and much more.
No matter the time of year, Raiders has a thriving social community and there’s always something to get involved with. We encourage members to table ideas and run ad hoc social events. We’ve held badminton mornings in Brixton, attended various music, theatre and cultural events, and are excited to see what comes next.
